That article is lacking some vital information, they are comparing a roof worth of solar panels to a multi story wall worth of solar windows... they say nothing about the actual output nor how long they last, a big problem with thin film solar is that alot of the chemicals that are used brake down in sunlight, newer thin film solar panels over come this by applying more layers.
