Little Guilty Pleasures...

Every now and then I like to waste a few bucks and pickup something kinda cool...Hot Wheels cars!

I'm just a big kid, but the little splurges have given me a small collection of little cars. I was just wondering if anyone else out here on ecomodder does the same thing? I don't chase down the crazy rare ones, I just look through the racks and pick out what I would consider a "cool" car. I have quick a selection of goofy cars, but I also have good array of corvettes, cobras, mustangs, jags, porsche, etc.

Today's Snags:
Delorean DMC-12

Tesla Roadster

Nissian Skyline R34

Ford Focus RS

If I get the time I will publish some of my "great ones". The problem is that they are not all in one place, so it's hard to pick from the best.

I have a massive collection that I have added to since I was tiny. Since I have a REAL car now, I don't really have a use for them much anymore. I guess I've just been waiting for a real ride. Now my hundreds (no joke) of Matchbox cars, and Hotwheels cars just sit there in their containers.

That Focus RS is cool though. I picked up a Delorean a while back, but mine is gold. Also, a grab from several years ago, is a little silver Vibe, like my real one. The car was a premium Hotwheels, and it has the 'alloy' wheels and 'moon roof' like mine. Proportions are a bit off, but I don't care, it's a mini-Vibe! Maybe I'll do some mini-aero-mods to it, to mimic the big one.

And one of my all time favorites :

It's just a cheesy Maisto, but I'll bet NO ONE has one or knows what it is.

Awww Pikachu! Hahaha Pretty cool. I definitely can tell that the blue is a Saturn. I wouldn't have called it a Sky, but its a Saturn for sure.

Where did you find a Chevy Volt? I would like to pick on of those up to pair with the Tesla!

The 2002 Saturn Sky Concept was cooler than the eventual Sky IMO. Very Audi TT-ish :

The Chevy Volt is not a normal Hot Wheel. It is a toy that comes from the second(?) Transformers movie, but the character was called "Jolt". You can get the transforming one in larger 1:32(?) scale or you can get the Hot-Wheel sized non-transforming one that I have. Here it is on flea-bay :

Hello -

Just an FYI. I think this trike :

Is the 1982 GM Lean Machine :

1982 GM Lean Machine - Concepts

Quote:

The GM Lean Machine was developed by Frank Winchell of General Motors (USA) in the early 1980’s as a concept car. The single seater vehicle is a "lean" machine in the true sense of the word as it leans into corners like a motorcycle whilst keeping the stability of a normal car. The original model was powered by a 15 hp 2-cylinder engine that produced a maximum speed of 80 mph with a fuel economy of 80 mpg at 40 mph. Shortly afterwards a second model was produced that was powered by a larger 38 hp engine. With a total body weight of 159kg this gave the vehicle outstanding performance and the Lean Machine was able to reach 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds with a fuel economy of over 200 mpg.

Ugh...now that I bought a few, I'm itching to go back and buy a few more. lol

Apparently they made an Ecto-1 for hotwheels this year. It makes me want to wonder around the stores still I find one.

Also they have a few Ferrari and Lamborghini out as well.

A friend of mine stopped over a couple of weeks ago, and had his kids with him.

The kids were playing with Hotwheels. One of their favorites was this one.

I think its the 2008. I thought it was odd that they did the 2011 Tesla Roadster with racing stripes on it. Last I checked, that WASN'T an option. You can get that COLOR, although I have only ever just seen it as a color chip in their literature.

Also, that weird Picachu car - I have seen a real life version of that at the Midwest Renewable Energy Association Fair. It was a Yellow VW Bug with custom made foam ears and tail. It really looked good. Wish I had a photo of it!!

It may have been this one.

That's the VW Beetle version. I am pretty sure that mine is a Scion xA (with VW Beetle headlights?!?!?!?) :

If you nix the ears and the tail, that's a pretty smooth nose and stylin wheel covers.

I still can't figure out how Pikachu fits in the car, lets alone steers and pedals :

Maybe he has a driver?!?!?!?
