I guess im a Hypermiler, with a stock car. I live in Phx, AZ (well Queen Creek 1.5hrs SE of Downtown). Its nice to find a place to refine my driving skills and learn new tricks.

love the car, ive had so many of these cavaliers. My last Cavalier was hitting near 46mpg consistantly till I got hit by a box van and it totaled the vehicle. Funny thing is I had wider tires but a lower profile and it increased my milage from 38 to 44. I measured the ride height before and after and it lowered the car by almost an inch. Went from 205/55/16 to 225/50/16

Did the new tire diameter throw the odometer off? You might have been registering more distance travelled than actual.

Regardless, either 38 or 44 is good for a Cavalier.

stock is 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 have exactly the same rolling radius

Welcome to EM! I'm confused. If ride height decreased by an inch, then either the tires have a smaller diameter or you lowered the car's suspension. Am I making sense?
