Red face New Member here.

Hi Everyone!

Ok for starters I drive a Jeep Wrangler 70 miles / day.

Second, I'm not here to complain about it - i've already done that here http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12488

I'm looking to gather all information, maybe dork out a little bit - and of course, save gas (or replace it.)....

I'm just wondering because I'm about to buy a 2001 honda civic with 150k miles on it for about $5k. Honestly, I'd rather not buy a new car (just yet) if we could get the mpg's up on the jeep.

I've even thinking about aero-modding it; but i'm very interested to know if anyones tried that with success?

I'm not sure what others are doing, but I'm sure they'll chime in.

I'd go for the civic as a DD though.

I hear ya on the civic. Although for a couple hundred bucks, I could put my jeep in a bubble.

OMG! I just listened to this: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...oryId=91703607

I'm confused, but is this what you're finding? Is the MPG calculation wrong - we should be using the GPM?

I like the idea of trading in both for 2 hybrids! or trade the suv in for the wagon and ecomod both of them to get 30+

i'm just confused because i travel 70 miles for a 5 day work week. I'm not sure that anything matters now - if I'm not mistaken, according to that study I should go for anything that gets over 30 mpg and wait till that hybrid gets over 100 mpg.
