Newer Honda steering wheel with my CRX

Would it be possible to take a newer Honda steering wheel with the radio and cruise controls and put it into my CRX? Would it fit right? could I wire the connections right? Would it look STUPID? haha.. I like the look of them ----> http://www.autogaul.com/wp-content/u...Sedan-2010.jpg

Plan on hooking up the airbag ?
If you're going through all that trouble, you might as well make the car safer too.

I want to know if it will be possible? Sure id hook up the air bag;)

I'd prefer the Civic design. The buttons seem better placed and the design is a little better for your 89 CRX dash. The horizontal lines, rounded at the corners, better match the shape of your vents and instrumentation. The first wheel has angles that are found nowhere on the CRX dash. You might also paint the silver highlights, since the older Civics did not have such design flourishes. I think people without familiarity would often have difficulty detecting it as out of place. I don't know if it works, sorry.

Ya I was thinking the Civic one would look the best. Any idea on how I might see if they are compatible?..

Seriously? Does no one have any input?..

Would it fit on the splines of the steering column? Who knows. Would you be able to wire up the controls? If you are asking here then I would say you should probably avoid it. None of that wiring will exist in your current column. Don't even think about trying to mod in the airbag / impact sensors/ etc if you don't know what you are doing.

According to the one web site that I looked at that sells after market steering wheels, a 2000 civic takes the same JDM steering wheel as a CRX, of course checking a few web sites like that would be worth while before spending a ton of money, but you might also check out HondaTec.com and ask the same question over there as there are people there who swap stuff for any reason they can think of while people here swap parts for better gas mileage.

Anything's possible. Honda steering wheel swap thread. There's mention of 88-91 Prelude steering wheels on CRXes, so I think we can assume the CRX steering column has 29 splines. Wiring most controls shouldn't be too tough, but like war_wagon says, you won't want to mess with the air bag sensors unless you really know what you're doing.
