Nissan IDS Concept
Nissan is showing their autonomous driving concept at the Tokyo auto show:
Nissan IDS Concept - Live Photos & Videos From Tokyo http://insideevs.com/wp-content/uplo...-Concept-4.jpg Nissan IDS Concept Foreshadows 60-kWh Next-Generation Leaf - HybridCars.com http://www.hybridcars.com/wp-content...14-668x501.jpg I am not onboard with the whole autonomous driving thing, but I like the design, otherwise - a lot! It has a 60kWh battery pack, and so it bodes well for the next generation Leaf, I think. It reminds me of the Renault Eolab, with a few areas similar to the BMW i8. |
It definitely looks cool. The range sounds nice too. I wonder what the cost will be though. Any price increase anticipated for the 30kwh upgrade? Thanks for posting Neil.

Nice.
I would be seen in one of those! |

I see 5 years of development time between those examples. Or the difference between a concept and a production model. (same thing)

I think this article is correct - the IDS Concept is the 2nd gen Leaf in disguise:

I like this concept for the stance and surface development. Have you seen the videos of the transforming dashboard?
|
Yes, the interior and the autonomous driving stuff seem fanciful, and not realistic.
The glass roof and the large / low splitter are the only things I think will be changed for production - if this is the next gen Leaf. The rear doors being suicide hinged is also a stretch for a family car - but the BMW i3 is reasonable and so this is not a deal breaker. |
