Interesting alternative to recumbents

Not sure about him billing it as "safer than an upright bicycle" though.
But it definitely seems like it's a more aerodynamic position.

Harder to handle. Harder to pedal. Less safe. One reason recumbents(in general) are safer is because when you crash you won't normally faceplant. Although I have lost a bit of cheek skin on twenty mph slides.

danger prone
I'm with jjacksone.
In an emergency evasive maneuver I can't see how a rider could quickly shift their upper body mass to force- bank the bike and steering.
If you can't stop or out-accelerate ( which seems extremely unlikely ) the hazard you may be seriously injured or worse.

As I understand it a recumbent is bad enough. You have to steer left to lean to the right??

Center of mass is moved further back. Legs not being used as dampeners. Most of drag is from torso position so a TT position is similar.

It's not bad with recumbents, the main issue with them is riding in stop and go conditions or car traffic due to visibility.
