That thing in your hand is a cable? Most common loose cable end I saw in Hondas was engine to chassis ground.

Maybe that car had its appendix removed by a previous owner?

Cruise control?

Baltothewolf 02-14-2016 11:43 AM

That would be a loose plug, not cable.

Anyway, brake light sensor? Only thing in that area I could think of.

KSA, Honda civic HX doesn't come with cruise control sadly.

That looks to me like it belongs to the IACV, though that's a shared plug-end with a lot of other sensors.

You can be sure its mate is within reach of the cable, at least.

Reverse light switch from the transmission?

Xist 02-15-2016 10:54 PM

Ah nuts. I found pictures of the brake light and IACV connectors, as well as a zoomed-in picture of the loose appendix, but apparently I did it wrong or something.

It does not look like the picture of the reverse light switch that I found. I had planned on looking closer today, getting under the car, etc., but I was not able to work on it today.

Thank you very much for your ideas!

It's a lockdown for the crank pulley? :D Hahaha!

Um... it was for my power steering, which I exorcised.

Ah. What you going to do with it? Probably should protect the end with electrical tape (in case you ever need to reconnect the PS to sell the car) and ziptie it to something....

Good point.
