WoW! My girlfriend and I are amazed! 54.66MPG on VX.

So I bought my car with a full tank from the original owner. Refilled the tank on 8/18 before leaving to Buffalo, NY from Boston, MA. During my first tank, I got 296 miles of all city driving with windows down. Only used 6.77 gallons which = 43.73MPG.

During yesterday trip to Buffalo, I was cruising at 65-75MPH with A/C on low the entire trip. Drafting behind trucks 70% of the trip. I thought I would've run out of fuel when the needle was at E, and I just crossed the Buffalo toll. I was nervous because this was my first time driving this car to E and don't know how reliable the fuel gauge was, since it moves often. So I told myself that at E, there's usually 25 miles left to drive (read it in some car manual).

First thing this morning, went to the Sunoco across the street and refilled. To my girlfriend and I surprised it only filled up to 8.598 gallons. That means I still have 1+ gallon left. This car deserves my respect and I am proud to own it.

Also, how do you do P&G on the interstate? My car felt pulled back much more than cruising around town at 30-40mph. So I didn't use P&G during the trip.

I don't p&g on the interstate, too much wind resistance.

I agree. I think you would burn much more fuel on the "P" up to 70-75 than you would save on the "G" side of it, unless you had the drag of an Insight or maybe a Prius

That's amazing. If only more new cars were capable of this straight out of the box. 43 MPG city sounds great, especially for a starting number.
