Wanted: Metro trailer hitch

We recently acquired another Metro--hatchback, 2nd generation (1995+)--and we'd like to put a hitch on it like we have on our first Metro.

Unfortunately, these hitches (Curt 11036) have been discontinued and are no longer available. Some retailers still list it on their website, but no one actually has one. They were always sold as "drop shipped" directly from the manufacturer. I've tried ordering from several sites, to no avail.

So--does anyone on here have one (new or used) they're not using? If so, please let me know: funkhoss@gmail.com.

Thanks!

-Funkhoss

I'm now watching this tread, too. Do you have pictures of the Curt installed?

There's a picture of it installed here.

Apparently U-Haul is now custom-making receiver hitches for this car. I've ordered one; we'll see what it looks like if/when it arrives!

Last custom hitch I did was I bought one that was close, wide enough, about the right shape, hitch located where I needed it to be on the cross bar and cut it up and made my own brackets for it to hang from.

I've been wondering if I could do that with a Type III hitch I've got, but that drop in the center might be problematic. I'll have the XFi back next week so I can check.
