Owning a Truck = Sexy...
.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4YH0kG9jMg If they did the same test, "Truck vs Corvette". It would have been a entirely different result. What they didn't ask the women is... Who do you think is sexier...??? Dumb, broke, big truck guy...??? Or, Smart, fat wallet, small car guy...??? "Hint" Women always find fat wallets sexy, not empty ones... ;) > |
They should have done it VS the Chevy Sonic!
I really don't get how this helps sales just a reminder to the people on how to think? |
Bet the truck they used wasn't an '88 Toyota :-(
|
Poor experiment. The vehicles should at least have been the same color.
Reminds me of the story of the guy who used a crappy work van his business had for first dates. If there was a subsequent date they took the Ferrari. |

They both should've been brand new 2016 models. Not a 2013(or so) corolla compared to a 2016 Colorado, but hey manipulating your customers to make your product look better? Too bad the Tacoma will still outsell the Colorado :) unless the 2.0L turbo diesel ends up being a 10 out of 10 then I might consider switching.

People are snobby about cars, shock!

I didn't need an "experiment" to realize that women are generally more attracted to truck owners.
The 3 top selling vehicles in the U.S. are all trucks, with the F-series Ford leading the way. Now, I know most people aren't in construction, so there must be some other motivation for boys to buy trucks (hint: it's girls). |

It is the color. The truck is red, the car is grey.
Swap color and rerun the test and see. My car is red and I get all the chicks I want. But as I'm happily married, devoted and monogamist, that does not say much about the car ;) Though there is another factor at play here. If there were no cars, just a sign saying 'Wasteful' for one and 'Thirfty' for the other, or something along that line, what would you think the outcome would be? Show a flurry of feathers even if may kill you or forget about sex, that's natures wise lesson. |
CRAP
Anyone else think this thread is quite misogynistic in terms of assuming men own the vehicles and women are somehow charmed by which vehicle is owned ? There are a few (too few IMHO) women here who own their own vehicles and ecomod them too, this is not (and should not) be a men only persuit. So come on guys, grow up! |

Then there's reality. Out on the roads it looks like 70% of motorists are women. Wow, can they chase around. |
Maybe look at the other posts ?

Of course, this is a generalization. No offense intended towards those who do not fit this general description. That said, I've never been attracted or unattracted in the smallest measure by what vehicle a woman drives. However, when a previous GF chose to purchase a brand new Chevy Aveo for the second time in 2 years, I saw the writing on the wall. No GF of mine is going to buy the crappiest car in America off the dealers lot twice in such a short period of time. Misogynist, not so much; more like realist. |
Not "really" realistic, not in any sense of the word. There isn't anything "sexy" about a truck, but there is an implied practicality (in a world without trailers anyway). There is an "hey, I can use that guy to move my crap around" undercurrent about it, not sexy. Do you think a woman holding a vacuum is sexy? Do you think women are so stupid as to fall for it? We think men are apparently...
|
Men are.
|
My first GF admitted to me that her previous relationship came about because she wondered what it'd be like to date a guy with a cool truck (Ford Lightning).
Some women are attracted to men in trucks because it projects a rugged image, some women are attracted to a man that drives a Subaru Outback because it projects a practical and adventurous image... Different people are attracted to different things, but generally women are attracted to strong and capable men, and a truck helps to build this perception. Most people make decisions based on emotion, which can be manipulated. If people made rational decisions, there would be no advertising. If people made rational decisions, we wouldn't elect politicians that were bought by corporations. |
I met my wife because I had a motorbike.
Only small bits of it were red. She has a Master of Arts degree. I don't... |
