Poor experiment. The vehicles should at least have been the same color.
Reminds me of the story of the guy who used a crappy work van his business had for first dates. If there was a subsequent date they took the Ferrari.

They both should've been brand new 2016 models. Not a 2013(or so) corolla compared to a 2016 Colorado, but hey manipulating your customers to make your product look better? Too bad the Tacoma will still outsell the Colorado  unless the 2.0L turbo diesel ends up being a 10 out of 10 then I might consider switching.

I didn't need an "experiment" to realize that women are generally more attracted to truck owners.
The 3 top selling vehicles in the U.S. are all trucks, with the F-series Ford leading the way. Now, I know most people aren't in construction, so there must be some other motivation for boys to buy trucks (hint: it's girls).
