plug and play instruments obd-1

i was really impressed with the scangauge in sentra se-r's car. is there any instruments similar to the scangauge that are plug and play to obd-1 cars. i know that there are some available that you can splice wires to, but i'm looking for a plug and play one.

OBD1 didn't have an industry standard, it was different for each manufacturer and hence what you can pull from a code reader is different. For instance my ODB1 miata(94) didn't have a data interface at all, just a blinking CEL. On the flip side ODB1 fords had a code reader that could at least pull some data, though I don't know how much. I have a code reader for one, but don't own an OBD1 Ford(long story)

OBD1: No plug, so no play.

There is one device that is plug and play for the OBD1 hondas, can't remember the exact name, but it costs about $1600 (used) to over $6000 (new) :(

Yeah, that makes sense... Honda did provide a 3-pin data connector on OBD-1 models.

Found some links:
Honda Interface Module (HIM) No idea on price through them though.

HIM and HDS straight from Honda at over $8K dollars total investment...that's 4 times more vaulable than my VX, lol.

And, as always, eBay has them, but buyer beware: HIM System on eBay.com

ECUTalk Consult LCD for Nissans. Shows just about everything the ECU knows.

Thanks very much zipob! I was hoping that there was something like this for my '93 B13 Sentra.

...hey! it even has a USB interface port, so connecting to your portable computer to record and display "everything" is possible--great!
