On the Carrera GT the rear wing just went up and down, similar on the 911 and Boxster.

Guess they had to "one up" the family.

I wonder it it generates lift during transition...

I assume it deploys at a lower speed than the others due to it's complexity.

And I bet the computer controlled suspension can more than compensate for the hiccup in flow measured in tenth's of a second.

Still, a good question, I'm just guessing myself, would be nice to see an article on it or some data.

Good answer, any lift is probably small enough to be a non-issue.

Sedans with 300 km/h top speed are sold by serious brands and don't employ such aids. Porsche's SUV's do 280 w/out such aids too.
I think it's more of a marketing gimmick, though a working one.

Wow! I could tell they looked similar just from seeing them rolling around out here, but I hadn't seen them side-by-side yet. And both the P90D and the Panamera get to 60mph in about 3.5 seconds. But the Model S seats five & has more cargo space. With zero tailpipe emissions.

Many articles about 200+ mph cars discuss the how the carmaker addressed stability and downforce at speed.
Ferrari or Lamborghini (sorry,don't have that in front of me) wrote that rather than add aerodynamic excrescences,they strove to avoid any feature of the cars body which would introduce high-speed instability in the first place.
These stability issues,plus cooling,end up creating shapes whose Cds typically exceed those of the best pickup trucks.
I'd never use a supercar as a template for fuel economy improvements.
