Looks like they fixed that God awful hunchback roof line while they were in there.

Good grief, what took them so long?

Is that wing for real?

Looks like something out of a Batman or Transformers movie.

The new Panamera's body is made entirely from aluminum, minus the optional large, panoramic roof overhead.

Thank god that they finally figured out how to motorize the spoiler.

Aerodynamic sarcasm?

Sarcasm with flow?

On the Carrera GT the rear wing just went up and down, similar on the 911 and Boxster.

Guess they had to "one up" the family.

Porsche Carrera GT

Similar to other Porsche models, such as the Porsche 911, the Porsche Carrera GT includes an automated rear wing spoiler which deploys above 70 mph (110 km/h).

I assume it deploys at a lower speed than the others due to it's complexity.

And I bet the computer controlled suspension can more than compensate for the hiccup in flow measured in tenth's of a second.

Still, a good question, I'm just guessing myself, would be nice to see an article on it or some data.

wing

As long as unrestricted-speed portions of the autobahn remain,we'll see these sorts of things.Dead Porsche drivers don't attract Porsche sales.

Good answer, any lift is probably small enough to be a non-issue.

Sedans with 300 km/h top speed are sold by serious brands and don't employ such aids. Porsche's SUV's do 280 w/out such aids too.
I think it's more of a marketing gimmick, though a working one.
