I'm really confused why there is even an argument... the Fuel Log is quite clear:

It asks for "fuel used". If you want to show that you got your fuel for free, or mixed free fuel with some ratio of purchased fuel, then you show that in the "Price" field. That's where you show how economical you are from a price paid standpoint. The "fuel used" field shows how economical you are from fuel consumption standpoint (regardless where the fuel came from). They are two different measures.

It's honestly not all that complicated.

Yeah, I put in the amount of fuel I pay for. What don't you guys understand? The "savings" part of the fuel log won't work right if I don't enter the fueling the way I do.

You don't like it too bad.

Well I think thats enough here. Darin will make the changes necessary to eliminate cars from the rankings that don't follow forum rules on how to account for fuel usage. No need to argue further.
Basically all you folks want to do is get rid of my car so someone who "worked" for their mileage will get on the chart. Whatever.

I have no problem with you stating what you are doing. The problem is that it is effecting the MPG rankings. When someone else comes to the website and sees your car they are likely to be misled.

Question: If I ask for a tank of gas from family and friends, then that helps me save money. From your POV, do I have to put that tank into my fuel log?
