Quad Stack Honda Insight IMA motor

Honda Insight GenI IMA motors develop maybe 13 HP. The ORNL has taken a similar Honda Accord IMA motor, added bearing support endplates and a through shaft to build a credible brushless PMAC motor. Others have suggested stacking multiple IMA motors together on a common shaft to form an economical higher HP composite motor.

A Quad Stack Honda IMA motor should be adequate for most small car applications. Properly designed it should mount easily to the existing manual transmission and fit into the space formely occuped by the ICE engine in the GenI Honda Insight. Existing Honda motor control electronics gear can also be composited to drive the motor.

I thought in similar way about Prius MG2 motor - there are some folks experimenting with whole transaxle, why not use MG2 stator/rotor assembly in custom housing, lighter than oem? Stacking two of them would give nice ~100 HP peak output.
