Hello all,

Just joined up to see what you guys are into.

I am VERY LIKELY NOT your typical member as I would MUCH rather be driving a 600+ hp Big Block vintage American car....... But times being as they are....here I am!

However, I AM open minded.

Thanks in advance.

If you cannot afford to drive the 600hp big block, then you are very likely like a typical member !

Welcome!

easy solution...
my car has 100hp
all you have to do to one is make it weigh 1/6th as much as a BB vintage car, and you'll have the performance you're looking for, while likely using 1/6th the fuel

Welcome to EM! What some racers do is lead a double car life. The 600HP beast is pampered and fed while the other car is a daily-driver MPG machine. The money saved driving the MPG machine can be fed to the beast.

Welcome to the site! As far as not fitting in, here is the list of cars in my driveway:

2002 Saturn SC1 (the gas sipper)
2002 GMC Sonoma (for hauling engine parts)
2001 Pontiac TransAm WS6 (with mods, about 400hp)
1971 Ford Mustang Mach1 fastback (with a lowly mouse of a 351C 4V, around 550hp)

So yeah, you're nothing like us.

Thanks! Wow... very cool.

I have always been and always will be into old cars until they are outlawed.....

BUT.... gas prices have been rising and i think will continue to rise. This last year it REALLY started to hurt.

Racing fuel runs about $10.00 a gallon at the track!!!!!!!

So...... time to rethink some things... and time to learn how to get more efficient!

1971 Mach 1 is cool!!!!! The first Eleanor from the original "Gone in 60 seconds"..... My Dad is a Mustang and Corvette guy. I think he has a 1972 Convertible right now with 351 and the Mach 1 style strip package.........

You don't have to have a lot of horsepower to go fast, I know that most people think motorcycles are dangerous but they are a lot of fun and don't use a lot of fuel and have little horsepower. I got a fully modded air cooled Buell Firebolt XB9R that produces around 89hp and a '09 Yamaha R1 fully modded about 160hp. They are about 430lbs.

I just had a demo run on a Zero S electric motorcycle and it was also a lot of fun, they can go for 183kms with one charge and have a top speed of 142km/h. They also weigh very little.
