Say hello to my little friend!

Girl incited brain failure leading to unforseen Financial issues caused me to sell both my cars.

Fear not devoted fans.

With the remaining proceeds I procured my latest toy... erm... project.

Say hello to.. The Mypod!

It is a Automotto 150cc "scooter" with a 55 - 60mpg top speed and an advertised fuel consumption of 83 mpg

oh dear......

Is that 'thing' street legal???

ecomodded 08-25-2012 08:32 PM

Its pretty cool really, it reminds me of a senior's classy electric scooter. I expect it to be much faster then "the little rascal"type of scooter. i could see the MyPod being used for rentals in tourist traps, it is nifty.

Great little mobile for in town use too, if it travels under 35 mph it would not need to be insured.

Took it out on its first run. topped out at 52 mph but wasn't very happy. So its mostly an in town rig.

Bit "shakey" at speed. The "Swivel" or "lean" just isn't very smooth. Noticed a zerk fitting on the back in the swivel area. gonna try pumping some grease into that and seeing if it helps.

Other, milder complaints, Its soft sprung and the dampening is just horrible, its LOUD, Rear breaks need to be adjusted and the front breaks don't seem very linear. Pull a little, it slows a little, pull a little more it slows a little more, pull a little more and it pitches forward on the soft sprung under dampened suspension and wiggles like mad.
Scary as hell if your not expecting it. Hoping that flushing/bleeding the front breaks and maybe some front fork seals will solve that.

Sounds like a project for sure, but hopefully fun when all is said and done. Be interesting to see if it has the characteristics of most beautiful women.....high maintenance! :-D

It looks like a cross between a BMW C1, and a reversed Piaggio MP3 :)

The next steps are obvious. ;)

Close off the better part of the gaping hole on either side - better suited to bad & wet OR weather - and put a boattail on the carrying rack.

If bleeding the brakes won't improve the braking (much), you might want to look into better front springs and more suitable fork oil - the thing seems to carry a bit of weight on the forks.

It looks like a nice project, it needs a tail and you could get 5-10 MPH more top speed.

Interesting vehicle ...

Ultra-Orange 08-26-2012 08:59 PM

So there is a Swivel lock on the parking break to keep it from laying over when parked. The Pre-tension nut was way to tight so the lock stayed partially engaged even when off. Got this fixed and the ride is much smoother, even cut down on the wobble-while-breaking a bit

added insurance, $75 a year for basic.

Engine started to loose power. Messed with the electricals for a while with no results, Pulled the carb off and sure enough, there is junk in the fuel bowl and one of the jets is plugged. Cleaned it up and she runs full good now.
