scangauge2 on a 92-95 civic
 

do you know if there's a way i can use a scangauge and still use the stock dx motor(d15b7 92-95)? maybe swap out a harness and ecu off of the 6th generation civics.

I'd say no but i've gotten used to thinking "never say never" here! My first reaction would be to get an mpguino. Much cheaper and FAR less hassle than changing out your wiring harness.

Although there are advantages to having several data retrieval inputs when hypermiling, a simple vacuum gauge will give you most of the information you need to achieve great mileage.

Low RPM acceleration at 2 inches of vacuum is great for your pulse, then you want the highest vacuum when cruising. You can even tell when you are in a drafting situation with a decent vacuum gauge.

Rewiring a car so it would be OBD2 capable would be a monumental task.

I was totally interested in the replies to this one!

Someone was selling a gauge for under 20 bucks, I missed that deal. Too many other home expenses at the time. #1, water was coming up in my basement.:p

vacuum gauge it is then. or mpguino.

Both work great! If you don't have a clock in your Civic, like I don't, You can install it, MPGuino, where the knock out is. The electric hook up for the clock is what you would use to power it. Almost looks like it belongs when finished. Just like your bumper block offs!

Or the vac gauge would install on the pillar & you could probably make the pillar mount for it!

Like I wrote both would do the job. What look do you want, mechanical or digital?

The way I see it, it's pretty obvious man. I would probably set a mpguino (obviously to monitor your consumption).
