SEMA is happening

Today through the Fourth. Here's a sample from Just A Car Guy:

I'm not really partial to front-engined Beetles, but in this case, the tractor grille, straight six and off-road roof rack redeem it.

Why do I want that? I'm sure it gets terrible MPG!

I was thinking it was the most likely to get good mileage.

But.... Is there such a thing as a LLR track system?

Likely not. But, good mileage relative to what? Probably a lot better than an Abrams.

Had it been legal to drive a side-by-side UTV on the streets and roads here, that yellow one would be quite cool...

Had it resembled more a normal Beetle, maybe I would still consider it a Beetle instead of something nearly impossible to identify properly.

Day Two. This was the banner at the time I visited the site:

One of the more aerodynamic examples is this Studebaker pickup. A modern splitter on fat fenders that shroud the wheels like an old SAAB. Does that trade frontal area for turbulence?

this might be the coolest vehicle I saw today, but at SEMA, there really is no way to say for sure,
because I forget ALL the vehicles I looked at. It's certainly top 5!

Derale always has something intriguing in their booth

Scrolling through the pics I thought this is the Random UnAerodynamic Thread....

I tried to pick conformal examples. Mostly it's about fit and finish.

The dune buggy is a new favorite.

This is the latest post. An eco-offroader? cRiPpLe_rOoStE should like it.

the Suzuki LJ20 that Matt's Off Road Recovery got out of the mountains (in a youtube video 13 months ago) was restored and at SEMA

Makes my brother's Suziki Samurai look like a monster truck.

SEMA

Probably the best place for Putin to begin with his tactical ....... ......
Or Klattu and Gort.

freebeard 11-03-2022 03:12 PM

Interesting that you draw a parallel between Putin and Klaatu.

I know the motors are bigger than needed because "Murica, but you see good fit and finish.
