Signature FE images ... beta test ready
Here's mine:
http://forum.ecomodder.com/fe-graphs/sig11a.png You can view yours by editing/submitting an entry in your fuel log. The image (for now) appears at the bottom of your fuel log page. It's also set up for people like me who don't fill regularly enough, and "fall off" the 90 day stat as a result. If you don't have a fill in the last 90 days, it takes the cumulative FE of your last 3 tanks instead. If the Make & Model of your vehicle is deemed too lengthy, it omits the engine size/transmission type info. There may be some bugs to work out. Load yours up and let me know how it looks. |

And there is mine. Horrible to see those low of numbers on my car, but it's been an interesting winter, as well as having over 360K miles on my car. I dig it well..Kudos on the design! |
It's tough to fit all the info I'd like to without making a giant image.
I'm debating dropping the "make" (eg Honda) in favour of adding "trim" (VX). Guessing that most people can figure out Make from Model, but omitting VX is leaving out some inportant info. |
There does seem to be a bug on my 'update fuel log' thingy. When I click 'edit' and then 'submit' it makes a whole new fuel log entry instead of updating the existing one.
Also I can't figure out how to delete fuel log entries. |
Nice!
Props on the design, it looks good. Are we sure we don't want to include ambient temp, avg gas price, etc like CMPG? :D |
Peakster - could you PM me your password so I can log in as you to see what's up with your edit/update situation? (Passwords are encrypted - mods/admins can't look them up.)
And there currently is no way to delete an entry. You're not overlooking anything. |
What designates a hypermiler? I agree it looks very nice.
|
Hypermiler = 20% over (new) EPA combined, in either the last 3 tanks or the last 90 days, depending on the vehicle.
Wayne, I think, uses a distance factor to qualify, but with the amount of driving I do, I still don't qualify by his definition :). So it's 3 tanks or 90 days for everybody! |

PS: Peakster - I like the new avatar! Funny. |
How do you like my new avatar, MetroMPG?
|
But it's too small for an avatar!
|
Haha. I should make up a smaller version in case people want to do that. Whee!
SVOboy's alive! |
O RLY? I just found this computer and it was already logged on to some site with a bunch of weirdoze.
|
Avatars are *supposed* to be small ;)
Okay, okay. Instead of the signature FE image, how about a pic of my LRR tire? Edit: Or, you might like this one I just took. I knew I liked *your* avatar for some reason. http://www.themillers.us/images/shoe.jpg |

I agree - "Honda" doesn't add much but trim level can be pretty meaningful. On the other hand, 240 without "Volvo" could be a Datsun/Nissan. Makes it tough for models that are numbers, not words. Mostly a European thing. |
Hey MetroMPG, how'd you get that banner type thing in your signature?
|
Add this code to your sig.
But replace ALL the curly brackets with square ones, and change both instances of NUMBER with the vehicleid number you see in the URL when you call up your fuel log (e.g. mine would be sig11a.png). Code:
{URL="http://ecomodder.com/forum/em-fuel-log.php?vehicleid=NUMBER"}{IMG}http://ecomodder.com/forum/fe-graphs/sigNUMBERa.png{/IMG}{/URL} |
huh... for some reason its not working :(
|
I just "right-clicked" (okay, apple-clicked) on the image and selected "copy image location" and pasted that in my sig.
|
Sweet! I've used a Mac for about 1/2 a year now and I didn't even know I could do that trick! Learn something new everyday :)

Also, Andrew's method of getting the image will work too. The code snippet I posted also made the image a clickable link to your fuel log. |
Awsome Sig Line - Is this something that would work for any other forums? I would like to use this on the Altima Forums to help draw awareness to ECO driving.
On a side note - the 1st tank i added was my "Old Way" of driving - my 90 day average is a little low - but one more tank will kick the 1st one out. Steve |
You should be able to use it in other forums, right darin?
|
If you want to post your image in another forum, you can. (I think that's what you're asking.)
You could try just copy/pasting the same code you used in your sig here. Depending on the Altima forum software, it might be that simple. If it's not, you 'll have to figure some way to incorporate your image url, which is: http://ecomodder.com/forum/fe-graphs/sig108a.png And use that particular forum's syntax to make it an active link back to your fuel log. BTW - nice trend in your log. :) |
MetroMPG -
I am most pleased with the results. CarloSW2 |
It definitly looks good. However, I dislike filling out multiple gas logs. I put in my Paseo's info since there aren't a ton of tanks. The Matrix would have taken forever to transfer from cmpg...
http://forum.ecomodder.com/fe-graphs/sig39a.png Just a reminder to the guys that are using this, use URL tags so it links to your log! |
AndrewJ's method would work.. if I could fill my tank!!! lol. Okay, so THAT's why it didn't work... I need to put in a new fuel log  stupid me.
|
And just suppose someone read this thread has no idea how you are actually attaching these "signature images"... or even where to start.

Go into the user CP and to edit signature and just put the code bits talked about in img tags (you can also click the img button in the WYSIWYG editor and just paste in the url.
|

You don't have to make a new entry - if you just edit/update an existing entry, the image will appear at the bottom your fuel log page. |
Test
|
You did it!
|
Only if I owned a Nissan. :(
I'm not sure what img# mine is... 42 doesn't work |
You need to update your garage entry. Go ahead and hit edit/submit on some random entry.
|
WHO - if it's still not working for you, PM me your password and I'll check it out.
|
SVO, change the garage entry indeed. Thanks
Thanks Metro now the big question, is it something I want to show or would it be better to hide? :D |
MetroMPG: How do you add it to the sig where it's a link to your profile like you have it? Did you just upload the jpg image of your fuel log and then embed a link to your profile in it or is there a button that will put it in there so that whenever you update your fuel log it will update your sig picture too?
|
If you use (and modify, with your vehicle ID) the code from post #17 in this thread, it'll also include the link to your fuel log.
The image updates every time you edit your fuel log, so you don't have to change anything once it's set up. |
Condfirmed the SIgnature works in other forum -
actually got to respond to a question about FE on an Altima even. here is the link to the forum ( incase anyone is interested in Altima FE...) http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/gen...e-help-me.html But it DOES come across well ( the picture not the link at least) Steve |
Okay, I couldn't make it go - not the most computer-savvy guy, here. Build the thing out of pine or oak and we can talk.
I grabbed it and imported to my computer, then saved in a format that the server wouldn't reject. It's static, so the image won't update with my changing numbers. I hope I can remember how I did it so I can update it myself. |
