snowboard to airdam/splitter and ring wheel cover

i have a snowboard that i want to mod into an airdam/splitter similar to a volvo style splitter.

i am thinking i will use a table saw with the blade at the highest settin on a45 degree angle andcutting the snow board to the height i need . i want to cut it so that it will be like a train scoop andthe nose and tail of the board with curve back towards thewheels

i want to install it under the engine pan just in front of the wheels. i think i wll hold it on with some L.brackets bent to the angle i want bolted to the pan with big fender washers and bolted or screwed to the snowboard

i hope this will eject air out the side around the wheels and not let road wind under my car

any advice or suggestions
i'll post some build pics later to be used as inspiration or a warning of what not to do.

i am also planning cutting thin plywood(meranti/luan) rings for my wheels. i read somewhere that wheel covers only haveto cover 20 percent of your rim.

i will paint the meranti to seal it from the elements, then coverit in adhesive vinyl to make it look slick.o

I cut the snowboard in half using a table saw with the blade on a 45 degree angle. I cut two pices of 1x3 pine and screwed them together at a right angle. one piece is screwed to the snow board and the other is screwed to the nose pan.
There is also a screw right in the middle of the snowboard directly up into the belly pan. It holds nice and secure. my first drive with it does not look promising.

Could it be pushing too much air?
Should the angle be less steep?
Should it be shorter?
would it help if the surface was smoother?

Looks vulnerable.

The angle doesn't look functional to me- when you said splitter I thought it would stick straight out in front... like splitters.

Is it wide enough to cover the tires? I thought snowboards were shorter.

It is about 5 inches from the outer edge of the tires. I was hoping this would function like an airdam and splitter. The angle keeping the air from going under the car.

I guess it is time to do some coast down tests so that I have some data to compare.

I was out on a drive to take a homemade coracle to my motherinlaws house. I couldn't go very fast because the circles was tied precariously on the roof. I was going 75 in an 8o zone - I pulled over to let a bunch of cars pass, and my snowboard airdam / splitter hit the edge of the road where it drops to the shoulder. Busted it right off! !

my instant l/100km went from 8 with the coracle on the roof and the snowboard on the front, to 7.4 with just the coracle on the roof . I guess I will leave it off for now. my l/100km went down to 6.4 without the coracle on the way home.
