Anybody know the cd of the 1976 aerovette? That is one nice shape car, to bad it didn't get to production.

This site says 0.325 (model year 1973):

Not that impressive really, considering the modern Vette (C6) has a Cd of 0.286:

Assuming the 0.325 figure is accurate, you have to consider that number in that time period. I bet 0.325 was a big deal in the early 70's. I seem to remember reading that the mid-80's Lambo Countach had a 0.50 cd!

The high nose looks rather aero-unfriendly, and they didn't seems to spend much effort around the lower wheel wells. Testing automotive aero back then was probably a bunch of trial and error, and with the bar set so low to begin with...

Don't get me wrong, considering my truck's factory Cd is 0.528, I'd LOVE 0.325!

I bet with some minor tweaks and detailing that number could be a whole lot lower.

The devil is in the details.

I wonder if this is where Elon got the idea for the folding doors on the Model X? :D
