The Sunbeam Tiger

Shelby did some of the work on the Tiger to make it buildable on an assembly line, but some west coast Hot Rodders were first at putting the Ford V8 in one...and immediately spun the centers out of the wire wheels. THAT is why they come only with steel rims. My 4 cylinder has steel wheels because I went to 5" wide 14" tall T-Bird wheels that are wider for traction and handling but not stick outside the body. To me tires outside the fender looks stuck-on and not well engineered. Since my Alpine has Ford power like the Tiger but minus 4 cylinders, I think I may call it a Sunbeam Tiger Cub.

I always thought my Notchback would look neat with a set of four 10-spoke mag wheels. They were used on the front of race cars so they take a narrow tire.

That website has everything you might want to know about 10 and 12-spoke wheels, spindle-mount and otherwise.
