2022 Hyundai Ioniq HEV (Blue) - Fuel Economy, Hypermiling, EcoModding News and Forum

Hello, this is my first hybrid vehicle, a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Blue, located in CA US. I'm coming from a 2016 Camaro SS where I was averaging about 21mpg. I'm loving the vehicle so far and probably have a lot to learn about driving efficiently when it comes to saving at the pump. Most of my trips involve driving 25 miles to town, down a mountain, and back up again. Only thing I've done to the vehicle is window tint and switched from the stock Hankook Kinergy GT tires to Michelin Crossclimate+ All Seasons. I may purchase a Scangauge 2 in the near future. A few questions about this vehicle in particular. I purchased this particular trim as I didn't feel the need for the added features (ACC, Blind Spot Warning, Heated Seats, ect...) and it showed a little better fuel economy.

The one thing I may be missing out on is that the SEL trim has the ability to change regenerative braking levels. I don't know what level the base trim is, probably level 1, but I'm curious if anyone knew. I usually ride the brakes lightly to achieve 4-5 bars of charges when going downhill (I heard it's better to put the vehicle into sport mode when coasting because it puts the vehicle into neutral? I haven't tried this) and braking early before a red light or stop sign (granted no one is directly behind me).

Also on the hybrid screen that shows electric motor usage I'm not quite sure what it is telling me. kWH/100mi driven I'm guessing? If anyone can explain that a little clearer I'd appreciate it.

Nice looking car. The Ioniq EV was on my radar but Hyundai never lowered the price to what I thought was competitive compared to the other cars with way more range.

Can't answer any of your questions though since I'm not up on the hybrid. Putting the car in sport mode sounds like the opposite of efficient though. Putting the car in N would disable regenerative braking.

Doesn't you car have the flappy-padels on the steering wheel? Or don't they do anything?

They didn't come on the base trim unfortunately. I get 2 bars of charge from regenerative breaking when coasting on a flat service.
