T-100 says! Adios ! to diffuser
On the way here I took a regular shortcut down an alley which saves me 3-traffic lights.
We've had a lot of rain, and a real gully-washer this A.M.. I got into high water, deeper than I could gauge. Then there was a delicious Hollywood special effects sound of the Titanic striking the ice-berg and in the side-view mirror I could see as the diffuser, formally a part of the truck, now embarking on her own independent journey, bobbing happily in the deluge. I stopped, removed shoes and socks, rolled up my pantlegs, and waded through foot-deep California liquid-sunshine to retrieve the wayward mod. She was no match for 4-mph hydrodynamics.%^&$#@)(*^&?<+_<%! |
Sounds like the water was getting up underneath it and pulling it down. When you re-install it, make sure you make a good seal all around it so there's no parachuting.
Failures are needed, so that we can learn from them. |
Bummer, Phil!
How many years of trouble-free service did you get out of it? |
I can't even imagine the noises accurately, nor the words that may have been spoken on exit of the vehicle...
Of course, you'll just design a better one for next time, I trust? |

The tail of a boat won't help much when you need the whole thing! The last pictures I saw, your truck was looking really cool! Were you deep enough to dip that Studebaker nose cone underwater? Did you have a belly pan? How did that fare? When it rains it pours... Sorry |
Oh no! :(
Hope it won't be too hard to git her back to normal again! :D |
Yeah. Winter is tough on ecomodders. My air dam is rolled up in the garage. Winter driving - oriented to not sliding about too much - also takes its toll.
Hopefully repairs don't stop more improvement. |
