Tatoo Bicycle Helmet
Ran across this. Interesting, Ugly wonder how well it works. Great idea though.

That is interesting.
The only advantage I see to it (because I'm blind to the value of novelty for novelty's sake) is that it can be stored flat. Biggest drawback I see: each time you lace it up, it goes on a little differently. The engineers who designed it have less control over the spacing of the foam blocks. It looks less aerodynamic, and much less well-vented than conventional helmets. I would worry about it being torn off or shifted about as you go head-first into the brush, before being brained by a stump. Nah, I'll stick to my hard shell helmet. |
i laughed at first, then i saw the rest of the pics
interesting idea id rock it http://www.yankodesign.com/images/de...14/tatoo03.jpg http://www.yankodesign.com/images/de...14/tatoo05.jpg |
It would be interesting to see if it meet the US Consumer Product Safety Commission standard. I've hit the ground hard twice and the helmet slid nicely across the road. With the expandable sleeves on the Tatoo I don't know how well it would hold up to a moderately high speed slide. I like like the idea of being able to fold it up for space but I think I'll stick with the hard shell. When it come to helmets it not something I want to skimp on.

Is anyone going to mention how it looks like the head net thing that my Grandmother used to wear when she had rollers in her hair? |
