1.9TD Passat B4 wagon 1994

I bought a 1994 Passat for 400€ for daily user before I can afford to buy Audi A8 and begin some serious modding. Basicly this car has same engine as my first car seat cordoba so I know the recipe to success...

Tank size in this is 95-100 liters. Price for diesel is 0.70-0.75€ per liter if I fill it at Russian side of the border. In Finland diesel costs 1.55€/liter and price will rise again thanks to Finnish goverment. I save more than 80€ per tank by filling at the russian side of the border.

First tank in stock condition with my lead foot high speed driving style was 5.8 liters.

After that installed engine undertray and small flat undertray in front of rear axle. Now fuel consumption is already under 5 liters. That means already 1800-1900 (1118 miles) km range which is nice but I want more.

Here 900 km driven and still about 50 liters left .

Next mods:
- flat undertray behind rear axle
- Summer grill block for max 150 km/h driving
- Remove roof rack holders from the roof sides
- taller gear ratio gear box. Now 100 km/h is 2500 rpm which is way too much
- 175/80R14 tires

Those mods should drop the fuel consumption under four liters range (59MPG us) and that means 2375 km with one tank (1475 miles). If driven slowly under three liters like my Seat 1998 Seat Cordoba Vario Gas Mileage (Siitin) - EcoModder.com

Planned:
- smooth hubcaps
- wiper mods
- underside mods
- you never know mods ;D.

Dang! With a 100 liter tank you are going to forget how to fill up, you'll be doing it so rarely

Congrats on the new (to you) car. Any pictures? And how does it compare to the Cordoba - is it taller, wider, does it have better Cd?

Basicly this passat is same shape and size as the cordoba so same mods will have pretty much same effect.

Pics will come later when some more mods have been done
