Tungsten disulfide or WS2
 

Hi,

Iam searching ways to reduce friction and my race mate suggested to try this WS2. They use it in their Formula 3 race cars in all bearings and gears. Effect can be seen immediately when you apply it if you two new bearings and you put it on the other.

I will try this in my Lupo, but where is still unknown. It can be mixed even to oil but I am trying to find more data on that from the internet. Here they say can be mixed to oil. My friend said if you put too much you engine will blow so gotta be careful not to put too much. Thats why I want more data. If you can help to find more data would help a lot. Specially to the oil mixing case.

Tungsten Disulfide Nanopowder is going be better Lower Friction but its also way more expensive.
I have tried Molybdenum Disulfide in my 07 Yaris both engine and auto transmission but didn't notice any difference. But thats no where near what Tungsten Disulfide is.
The bigger diameter stuffs probably going to be ok, but I think in this case smaller is better.

I use the Moly in my CRX at every oil change, and I think it helps!

quick instructions from that previous page:

First three oil changes should consist of mixing 1.4grams (1700ppm) Tungsten powder per 1 quart of oil.
All other oil changes should consist of mixing .2grams (250ppm) Tungsten powder per 1 quart of oil.

For manual transmission, mix 10 grams Tungsten powder to 1 liter of fluid.

Automatic transmission: Do not mix Tungsten Lubricants in automatic transmission (clutch will slip).

You can mix Tungsten Powder in differential oil and bearing grease too.

I will try to get that powder today and put it in my engine and transmission and lets see what happens.

Any noticeable difference yet starting, idling, coasting?

Can't wait any longer .. ordered some today ..

I have only one spray can at the moment and I cannot put that to the engine or gearbox. Still waiting information from my friend will I get that powder also through him or do I need to order from the web also.

My bearings are closed so cannot put it there either. Does someone has good information can you reassemble closed wheel bearings?

I will buy 100 grams of that WS2 powder next week and start my own testing in oils...
