I'd posted in other threads about the Xbus, and I always liked Olli, the Local Motors 3D printed autonomous bus.

The Olli had opaque rounded edges, opposite to the Kanoo.

But this is amazing a U-shaped chassis that can self-deliver to move cargo or passenger pods.

Another German innovation. It will be interesting to see how far they can take this.

Its quite familiar appearance is pleasant, but the strict-EV approach is still a matter of concern for some operators. Let's suppose a hybrid setup could be implemented, would probably serve right to a lot of people who can't overcome the range-anxiety of a full-EV.

The solar roof is there to calm that anxiety.

The ability to swap between body styles is impressive.

Not sure if it's so effective for that matter :turtle:

Production at 'the end of next year'. But it will grow in width because two front seats isn't enough, apparently.

Range anxiety is self-inflicted. I have 24 miles range in the ranger. I know where a 12mile circle lets me go, I don't push that so ergo no range issues.

You don't see me attempting to drive to Carson or the 70 junction for a lottery ticket.

Only Aptera and Xbus have the solution

Although now they are suggesting expandable battery capacity (and hopefully not putting solar panels under a luggage rack).

Solar panels are great for auxiliary power in a campervan anyway, but hey, even sailboats often have a small Diesel sterndrive for propulsion. I guess all-electric camping is still out of question for most folks.

Maybe it's only good for ten miles a day, but you're already home. :)

I have seen puports of camper vans that recover +30 miles a day, although I think the recovery could be higher. So park somewhere for a couple of days and make the next campground. Most trips I have taken would fit this scenerio. Even on the Cali coast or in the middle of the USA.

This isn't for the typical weekend camper but for the long haul off grid people that boondock camp as their lifestyle.
