A very real possibly answer to what we all want!!!

There is a old but great engine design that I hope many will look into:

Please look into this.

The opposed piston/cylinder bit has had its their own threads. Maybe you'll find what you seek there?

OK but were they talking about the Bourke engine??

But some of us want polyphase DC electric propulsion.

I would love a Tesla too, A) no Gas, B) no pollution (at my end anyway) C) a Model S can out run 100% of all other street cars and many drag racers....

BUT I do not want or can afford a car that costs more than my house did.

Also They do not make a RV or even a large van, and although due to my age and health needs I will plan on spending nights at a RV park, with basic 110V A/C, most of them will not have fast charging stations and I bet the recharge of a 12/14 hour drive in such a rig could be longer that the drive there, and I do not want to be tied to such needs, SO for a road trip van it is still gas or diesel most likely for the rest of my normal life...

Perhaps one of the upcoming Big Rigs, but they will cost 5 to 10 times as much...

I am praying I live long enough to extend my "normal" life time to abnormal but that is only a hope.

I had a Clark Cortez until I lost the space to park it.

It had a Chrysler slant six in it but one would be perfect for a Tesla 'big block' in front-wheel drive. The interior layout would improve without the engine doghouse. The driver's seat is hard to access from inside.

I've outlasted two of my siblings.

Cummins actually bought(?) the company that brought this idea back in like 2012 in popular science magazine. I think they were working on it since 2007? Cummins invested with them last year so it will be interesting to see if it makes it into anything or if it ends up being strictly government.

I remember they said either their gasoline or diesel version was 51% thermally efficient and could run on multiple fuels.
