Ways to get out of a speeding ticket in Cali?

Anyone know of any way to get out of a speeding ticket in Cali? I just got one for doing 76 in a 60 which is BS because I know my speedo said 68, but whatever. Anyway, I was thinking of doing the radar gun tactic (asking him to prove the calibration forks are for that gun, etc etc). But if that fails, are there other ways?

In the future, don't speed.

It's funny, if my dad hadn't blocked in the black mamba with the motor home, I would have been Hypermiling instead of speeding in the goblin lol. Oh well.

This doesn't help, but my first thought was, '68 is still more than 60.'

Yea I'm just gonna accept responsibility for my actions. I am gonna ask the judge to reduce it to a 15mph infraction so that way I will only have to pay 150ish instead of 250ish for the ticket.

Besides taking it to court, there is a chance the officer wont show.

You could try claiming your tires are off and it cause your speedo to read low.

Best way to get out of a speeding ticket is to admit fault to a less traffic infraction when the officer asks, do you know why I pulled you over.

When he asks for ID, pull out a military or DOD ID works sometimes too.

As Frank said, don't speed. Especially in an area where you're likely to get caught.
I've been stopped for speeding twice. The first time was in May, 1977. I was issued a warning. The second time was in April, 1978. I was issued a citation for 70+ in a 55 zone. That one doesn't count any more, now that the speed limit through there is 75MPH.:) It cost me thirty four bucks. That was a bit of change for a 19-year-old in 1978.
Why are you driving over the speed limit? (unless you're COASTING over the speed limit).
This forum is about miles per GALLON, not miles per HOUR.

Always be cooperative, honest, and admit fault. From my experiences and from watching COPS, the worst thing you can do is argue or be fishy. In almost all cases cops are extremely lenient to honest people. It's just so stupid on these shows watching people make minor situations so much worse.

Also you can just avoid certain states altogether. Some counties make a ton of money on speed traps. In those places it doesn't matter what you do, they just want money. There is actually a map of the worst offending speed trap places.

If the ticket has the wrong car model on on it you won't have to pay it either. Somebody who debadged their car got out of a ticket that way.
