What would you do if you learned you originated the Babby meme?
Good Lord,
I recently discovered That the ancient and famous “How is Babby Formed” meme was due to stuff I **** posted after being extremely disappointed with how people rot engrish qestion at Yahoo Answers. Not sure if I should be ashamed or proud of my active efforts to mock how people wrote on Yahoo answers back in the day. The response in question I actually constructed from someone else’s very offensive but mostly grammatically correct diatribe about a recent event, I had no respect for the point of view and deconstructed the paragraph and deleted a bunch of stuff then tried to change as many words into nonsense as possible re-organizing the words in each sentence where possible. I felt so bad about mocking the subpar leet speak I had to add sorry for your lots on the end to make sure they didn’t think I was just mocking them. Not my best work either (I had modified dozens of perfectly logical paragraphs into nonsense for that site) my Pesident Grog Brush Irate gwar response to the Support the troops guy was better but I guess if I gave folks a laugh whatever Amusing to see my old work creating copy pasta for 6 years and never realizing At that time I was on dialup and rarely went on Reddit, back in the day I would have gotten a real kick out of knowing I was sponsored on something awefull Ah well probably best they didn’t figure out I was “that guy” that originated the cavemansplain. Truey Sorry for your lots. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.kno...s-babby-formed |

This is the way |
Does it bother you that something you posted became a meme? Or were you willing to attempt to monetize from it? Once something becomes a meme, as long as there is no way to claim moral damage in a seek for compensation, it's harder to control its spread.

Not monetize e, I get more of a kick out of the fact people found humor in it
I would have played along back in the day if I was aware it existed. Unfortunate I didn’t notice it years back. I suppose it’s long in the past where it belongs I often wonder if I should have done stupid humor posts (I never have in recent memory) I also more or less gave up writing. More of a personal satisfaction type of thing, not expecting anything real out of it.. |

From another forum I’ve been told everyone who would remember the Babby meme is dead :0 Originally I had posted the text that became the meme to the techsupportguy political subforum as a response and the moderator wigged out changing my post to the attached message. I was having many technical issues with yahoo answers and really found the whole thing to be a joke then eventually got my nonsense posted as a question not a response as I had wanted. Yahoo answers beta was so broken I couldn’t get the tech support to work or even find my posts there but apparently the guy from something awefull did see my post anyway and the rest is history. Stranger is they never really discussed my user name but did mention the other person often. My guess is the meme wouldn’t have taken off if they knew the original poster wrote it as sarcasm and a joke to begin with. memes had been around since the 90’s with AYBABTU the first long running video meme but at that point actively promoting something like that was uncommon and not mainstreamed. I simply didn’t think much of memes back then even though several things I wrote ended up in the urban dictionary. At the time I wrote that up I was heavily into engrish products which may have influenced what came out. I have never had the interest to see if anything from long ago remains to correct some of the entries. Not sure if I would want to be infamous for what I started |
Cool! I love that meme and the response.
If I were you I would pop a beer and reflect fondly, then tell a few people in real life how it went down. Maybe you could make a YouTube series about it, if you can keep cranking this stuff out. |
That means I know someone who's Internet famous! Congrats.

I've got a few I'm trying to get to catch on. YODO (You only die once) - It means the same as YOLO, only stated from the other end. It isn't what it isn't - It means the same as "it is what it is"; an entirely pointless thing to say, but it is what it is. Unlike- Used frequently in a sentence in place of "like". "You know, unlike, I didn't want to go out with the guy, but unlike, I didn't have a good excuse not to go". I know what you mean - Response to every sentence that ends with "you know what I mean". It's awkward and pointless to hear you know what I mean? gawk, ogle, or perhaps squint - Used by politicians and political commentators to begin an answer to any and every question in place of "look", just to spice things up and convince us there's a little bit of life and creativity left in that mind. |
