What's the Cheapest you've EVER Paid for Gas?
The best I can remember, when I started driving gas was around 77 cents a US gallon. Your turn.
|
I started buying gas during a price war — 25¢/gallon. When it went back up to 27¢ I was outraged.
...later I started thinking that was kind of funny. Allowing for inflation, that would be $2.10 today. A gallon is the same size, but the dollars are getting smaller. |
0. A few times a construction site I used to guard let me fill up with their gas for free.
|
$.189 a gallon.

$.549/gal. Used our fuel discount last week and filled both cars.
|
Paid $1.51/gal today at Sam's Club in Huntsville, AL. I've only been driving since 2012 so sub $2.00/gal gas is not something I've often experienced.

I remember driving with my Dad in 1962 and he bought gas for $.099. It was a gas war and across the street it was $.109.
I started driving a VW beetle in 1967. It had a 10 gallon tank and gas was around 25 cents a gallon. As long as I owned it, I was never able to put over 3 dollars worth of gas in it a one time:) |
Pumped gas for my hs job. it was .33 for the longest time.

Nope... :) *Warning* - watching this video is about as exciting as watching paint dry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M01HOtC_7lk > |
If I'm converting it right, I paid last week the lowest for diesel I have seen.
About 4,1 dollar per gallon. |
I used to just sign for it. You taxpayers were probably getting gouged, though, what with KBR's no-bid cost-based contracts.
And we got bad mileage. |
17¢ per gallon at Naval Station Argentia, Newfoundland, 1965, at Navy PX gas station.
|
Gas was about .299 when I started to drive in 71.:D
