wheel skirt attachment poll
which should I use to attach my wheel skirts to the top of the wheel well?
A: small hinge http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/z...GEDC0150-1.jpg B: angel bracket http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/z...s/GEDC0152.jpg C: something else (please note) |

I voted A because I like that version of the mod. I would keep strong (hard disk?) magnets in the trunk for use in holding the skirt up when you are servicing the wheels. CarloSW2 |
In my experiment with full coverage skirts I discovered the importance of being easily able to access the tire air stems. I would like hinged skirts better than removeable ones.

Large hinge?
Is that tiny thing strong enough to keep it attached if the wind gets under it or something? |
In the winter I have to go to the coin op car wash and water jet the snow out of the fender wells or it will start rubbing on the tires. That restricts turning and kills FE. The hinge would definitely be a must have if it is strong enough.

I'm all for hinges.
My skirts are mounted with 6 (!) screws each, which I know is overkill, but with less the car's other users wouldn't think it's safe. When these need replacing I'll use less screws and hopefully a hinge, since starting the engine just to have access to the tire valve is a PITA. Last winter I had no problems with snow/ice, only with salt that ruined the skirts' paintjob. |
