Wheel weight

Like it says how much improvement can be had in 1 lb per wheel? Because I want these. They are beautiful and light.
14x5.5 inch and 6.5 lbs. 15x5.5 and 7.1lbs.
Volk Racing CE28N 8-Spoke Wheel 14x5.5 4x100
Shame they are more than my car.

Not enough to justify the cost, depends how much you like them.

Weight reduction you have to pay for is never going to be cost effective.

Best bet is to keep a look out for a used set.

I wouldnt even start worrying/hoping until your saving 6+ lbs. each

6lbs is exactly what I went for when I moved from stock steelies to Prius wheels on my Corolla.

I wish there was a website that published stock OEM wheel weights in various sizes by year. It seems gathering info on wheel weight is not as straightforward as it might be.

And tire weight. my wheels and tires really dropped weight from stockers, wish I had the scan tool b4 and afters to see a difference, because I cant tell with my gas guzzler truck.

I remember in my racing days, there was a night and day difference between a flashy 17" rim VS 15" Rota Slipstreams (which are very cheap for their weight). Going from the 17"s to the 15"s felt like power equal to that of swapping out the cams! Going back to the 17"s, sluggish... horribly sluggish.

With that in mind, if you have a lot of city driving, they can definitely help. Stopping and going constantly, it's going to definitely get you to your designated speed sooner w/ the same amount of throttle. I still use the Rotas to this day. The car has a great amount of pep and my MPG numbers are decent (though I'd like to see them go higher! Who wouldn't?)

The stick vx wheels are supposed to be 9 lbs per rim so you are saving 3 lbs. I just wondered if anyone had done say hx wheels then vx wheels they are a little over 1 lb difference between them. Yes I love them I keep looking for used but even those are $1000 ish. And yea that is big money. Unless it was 10 mpg.

Don't know if you have them there, but ROTA AutoX's are about 10 lbs a corner (didn't believe it, so I went and weighed a set myself) for 15's. And they're cheap.

Can't go wrong with ROTA, just make sure you buy them in good condition and that they haven't been powdercoated or refinished by the previous owner, as that can weaken any wheel.
