Lightened Flywheel

Hi

I have a 1990 geo I am going completely through for max economy.

Whats everybodys opinion on the new aluminum lightened flywheel at suxukikurd as far as gas milage goes. I think the down side would be taking off from a dead stop. But once rolling ???? Less mass to keep spinning. Just looking for input. Thanks John

Thanks for responding.
They are expensive and I am at the point I could do it but didnt know if it would help or not. I have read allot of pros and cons on these threads and noticed suzilikird just came out with this. Thanks John

The 1.3L flywheel is lighter, and much cheaper. If you want to go that route? It also has a larger clutch.

I would shy away from Suzukird as they do not have the most stellar reputation in the Swift/Metro community. Some people have gotten what they paid for but many have had bad experiences too. If you want to try the lighter flywheel idea, try the one off the 1.3 instead. It's a cheaper part that can be found at the junkyard and if it doesn't do anything you are not out a lot of money. Plus, the clutch is a weak spot on the G10 and having the larger 4 cylinder clutch would probably be a reliability upgrade. This is especially true if you like to pulse and glide and use the clutch to start the engine at the end of a glide. It's not something I know from experience, but it is on my list of future mods for my Metros.
