Who makes LRR tires? Recommendations?

I can't seem to find tires that are specifically noted to be Low Rolling Resistant. Does anyone have suggested brands of tires?

Thanks

What size? What vehicle?

I don't know of any for 13" wheels, but if you upgrade to 14" you can use the LRR Insight Pontezas.

Here is a start: http://www.greenseal.org/resources/r...resistance.pdf

It's getting a little old, but it's about the best we have right now. I hear we will soon see rolling-resistance ratings on tires, and I can't wait!

The Sumitomo HTR-200 is available from tirerack in our size, too.

Kind of thinking about moving up to a 14" to get more selection. Trying to find a lightweight 14". The 13" steels are light but I'm sure I can find some 14" aluminum wheels that are lighter.

HX wheels are pretty sweet. Otherwise I think you can make some older, light miata wheels fit.

Wouldn't touring tires with a long treadlife warranty pretty much have to be LRR tires?

PaleMelanesian 05-13-2008 09:21 AM

There's actually very little correlation there. It's surprising. Some of the best LRR tires have low treadlife.

Dang. There goes my big gas savings.....
