This is going to need so much editing! :D
What if you built solid rubber strakes?
I was just thinking about parking and the occasional curb check while cornering. I know that we like keeping weight as low as possible, but if we made those modifications out of solid rubber, wouldn't they at least survive parking blocks, tall rocks, and the like?

Strake is the word you are looking for, I think? They also need to go behind the rear tires in particular; to help the air flow close back together.

They don't need top be solid rubber, hollow would work.

Solid rubber would be too firm, I think? They would either get torn/scratched/damaged or they would try to lift the car. Hollow or made out of foam rubber with a tough surface would be the ticket, if you want them to be closer to the ground than some places would rub them.
Remember, the bottom portion of the wheels is virtually stationary vs the ground, even when the vehicle is moving, so leaving enough of the wheel exposed to keep the strakes from hitting even on driveway aprons or speed bumps is a case of diminishing returns.

My style: Solid rubber and really tall with pressure sensors that turns on a strobe and siren when there is a key in the ignition.
That way I never drive with low tires! :P |
