I bought some LED's to change my cluster lighting over. The lightbulb style was a 194 bulb. Ordered on ebay and immediately installed. My work has a nice bench tester for DC electrical, so I figured I would test the stock bulbs vs the LEDs. After all, it's common knowledge that LEDs are more efficient, but how much are we talking here?
Here are the results...
12.4v
Stock = .250 amps, 3.100 watts
LED = .014 amps, .173 watts
13.3v
Stock = .262 amps, 3.489 watts
LED = .0017 amps, .226 watts
14.4v
Stock = .274 amps, 3.951 watts
LED = .018 amps, .259 watts
