Women and driving
I was running to Home Depot last night for something for http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...dam-30382.html when a woman tried changing into the portion of my lane I was busy occupying. She hit my car, pulled back, pulled over, and apologized. I got out, looked at my car, and marveled that aside from the actual mirror itself shattering, my car did not look any worse than before.
I wanted a free paint job! She kept apologizing while I called Honda and asked how much for a new mirror. They would need to order one, but it would be something like $196.70--it was ten percent less on-line, and I was not even mentioning Majestic ($143.71 shipped). She asked if I knew how to replace it myself and then asked if she could just give me two hundred dollars. She actually gave me $250 and I bought a used mirror for thirty dollars. Car-part does not show any black bumpers in the state of Arizona. While I would actually like for my car to be white or silver, I do not plan on replacing one part at a time. They sold me a white fender for forty dollars. Do you think that it would be cheaper to paint a fender than straighten one? Well, before Arragonis protests: https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...2d&oe=54D97B18 https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...97&oe=54E6D358 When I have permission and reason to post a picture of a beautiful woman I will. |
On the bright side...free mirror delete :)

I absolutely hated driving without it and she obviously did not use hers. |
This time of year, the most amazing thing about this story is that she wasn't a geriatric :)

Some minor accidents can be easily fixed like that. I backed into a women or so she said with a straight truck one intersection. I almost ran the light and backed up to unblock traffic. I should of continued on in retrospect
I hear a horn honking, saw nothing behind me. She had a small infinity suv from the 80s. I saw no damage. I asked her what happened, she said I backed into her. I told her I was sorry and asked her to look at the damage. She couldnt find anything. She was still crying. I told her it was up to her, we can pull over to the next street and wait for the cop to get a police report and our insurances involved and that I had extra insurance on the truck as it was a rental. I think that turned her off and she started to straight out. She said she didnt want to do all that. I went back and showed her her front end and that I could see any damage and if she had any check engine lights on, nope, nothing. Finally I said let me buy you lunch and gave her 20 bucks. She said that was fine and I said you are ok if I drive off now? She said yes, so I got in my truck and left the next green light. :turtle: |

I really do not want to draw attention to my car, which is at odds with ecomodding, but I cannot imagine anything ecomodical about whatever you just named. Quote:
I was standing right next to him and several inches taller. As you know, I am often invisible. |
I was actually in that lady's position on Saturday. I looked, signaled and moved. Luckily for me, driver B saw me coming and had a working horn. Maybe I lost him in the sun, maybe he had been coming up behind me and so hadn't been to my left when I checked. If I could tell exactly what happened, it wouldn't have happened, you know? All's well that ends well.

This is not the woman that bumped my car, she was freaked out after breaking my mirror:
