The worst thing about school

Is all the time it can take! I've been gone for a while if you haven't noticed, not because I hate ecomodder, but because school has been crushing me, :)

Why o why isn't there more time in the day?

Anyway, I'm back, sorry for the whining. :)

This, too, shall pass.

SVOboy 10-23-2008 11:01 PM

I sure hope not, :)

Not EcoModder, I meant your schooling, silly! (and your whining... ) :D

SVOboy 10-23-2008 11:46 PM

I meant the schooling too (though the whining is kind of unfortunate)

You'll get through this and then you can go off to Graduate school.
Where you gradually learn you don't want to be in school anymore.

Yeah, I guess I really enjoyed college, too. But the 'real world' (as they call it) has its own rewards and fulfillment.

If you ask me, the worst thing about school, University that is, is the time it takes. To me, school was always more a mean than an end in itself. All I wanted was the paper asap, but I still had to wait 4 years.

Of all notions I use when working, and I work in the field I studied in, a very small share was learned at school. But then again I wasn't present at lectures very often. Give me a couple of reference books, tell me what the exams are gonna be about and I'll see you at the end of the semester. That was more my type and I loved courses I could work out that way. But then again there was way too few of those.

When I was in college I used to have to pull an all-nighter about every other night to get all the work done. But it paid off. And now I look back and kinda wish life was that easy again.

I really enjoyed my time in College, but life was much more difficult then...

Compared to the "real working world", I put in many more hours of studying, volunteering, and worked 2 jobs in the college days. Summers were good because I worked at jobs I enjoyed.

Now instead of a forced routine of consistent information retention, recall for exams, and condensation into papers, I can now focus on a career that I enjoy and spend more time on fun projects/hobbies (like EM ), volunteering, and sometimes, just relaxing.

Life is still challenging, but it's more focused and organized.
