WTB: Honda Insight Wheels
I've searched the junk yards around here and if I drive 75 miles I can get a pair of Honda insight wheels, leaving me short two, the rest of the yards tend to charge $75 or more each and then if I had them ship them there would be shipping as well, My state no longer allows Pull-a-part yards, so what I'm wondering is if any of you who wonder pull-a-part yards happen to see any Honda Insight wheels if you could check the price, I'm willing to pay $75 or so after shipping, less would of course be nice.
Without a tire these rims should weigh in at around 11 pounds, so shipping shouldn't be that much. Shipping would be to 54751 I figure it will be mid to end of summer before I really need new tires, so if this takes a few months or more I'm fine with that, but my next set of tires I would like to have on Honda Insight rims. |
There are lots of stores out there that sells genuine parts but offers low prices for it. Take note, these are not used. Still, I always considered the brand new ones. My suggestion is... never resort to visiting a junk yard, ever.

Really? never buy parts from a junk yard? I bought a set of insight wheels from a junk yard, a set of 4 of them cost less then I would have paid for a single new wheel from the cheapest source I could find, I've bought plenty of good used parts and have been very happy with all of them.

Got an extreemly hard to find version of the Jeep 4.0 head complete with wiring harness, injectors coil on plug system intake manifold, throttle body, etc... for $250. The head alone is $400 or so. Found a rare narrow dana 44 axle for a CJ for $60. They run $600 in an as is condition Thats over $4000 worth of parts (even used market) that I have gotten for less than $500. Why did they outlaw the u-pull it places? |
Had a bad experience in getting from a junkyard. Turns out, the guy who sold me those parts is a scam artist. Please do suggest places that i can get some stuff and not getting into trouble
thanks. |
I am curious as well as to why they outlawed the pull-a-part places. Though I can say that around here they have certainly died off. I am guessing environmental or liability reasons?

insurance and people steeling stuff, you walk in with your tool box and buy a $10 part, break $100 worth of stuff getting it and walk out with a cars ECU in your tool box that you can turn around and sell for $200
|
^^ Good idea.

One more reason why I never want to get stuff from junkyards... they might be stolen. Still not able to look for those wheels...

Anyone leave a link of any site where I can find any honda wheels and other parts. thanks.
