The steel wheels flex and deform as they roll,'taking' the MOONs with them.Cast or forged wheels wouldn't do that,but you might not want to drill into an alloy wheel,as it could initiate a stress...

Looks good and yes I minor scrape you should be fine, but a decent rock or a curb and your gona tare your bumper off I'd either replace the bolts with zip ties or go from 12 down to 4 if it won't sag...
