3 wheel Honda Insight boat tailed EV: Another mystery solved!
It's an Electric Honda Insight with a Lithium pack and 100 mile range! Thats better than bringing back the the EV1. I don't believe there was a dedicated thread to this car. Pulled this from Insight Central.

Oh ya! I've seen that car each year at the Bay Area Makers Faire (where the video was obviously taken). Another great reason to go; you meet some fascinating and inventive folks there. A couple of my pix of the car:

I like that the trailer he brings along can be used to help charge the batteries.

At one point this is what I was going to do with an insight except use my Goldwing rear swingarm. I wonder how much weight he was able to reduce?

Just a curiosity question, wouldn't it be more efficient to have power sent to one wheel, rather than the front wheels?

Maybe, but how much weight would be on that wheel?

Not that much, given its position pretty far aft, while the weight reduction on the rear end of the Insight (with the glassfiber rear at least) means the CoG has likely shifted forward.
With that one, I'd rather worry about structural integrity and re-ingesting exhaust gasses.
