Too bad I can't participate in yet another govt program that rewards the stupid. I have no qualifying vehicle except the F150, which is totally functional and too nice to be scrapped. So yet again the responsible get to subsidize the doofs.

My 1994 Ford Aerostar didn't qualify for the Cash For Clunkers, which is odd because it got 18mpg. If it did I would be cruising around in a new Insight.

Hundreds of thousands of vehicles being crushed that are probably nicer than what I drive... and the engines are being purposely destroyed.

Yes. There's a story in the local rag about the program and some doof traded in his F150 and got.... another F150. They showed a pic of the old truck, that eh hole never had anything in the box of it for the last 16 years, it was a COMMUTER TRUCK and the new one will be as well. HOWEVER that old truck probably runs like a top and would be a useful implement in the right hands BUT it will be CRUSHED and WASTED instead.
