Too bad I can't participate in yet another govt program that rewards the stupid. I have no qualifying vehicle except the F150, which is totally functional and too nice to be scrapped. So yet again the responsible get to subsidize the doofs.  |

My 1994 Ford Aerostar didn't qualify for the Cash For Clunkers, which is odd because it got 18mpg. If it did I would be cruising around in a new Insight.

Hundreds of thousands of vehicles being crushed that are probably nicer than what I drive...  and the engines are being purposely destroyed. |

Yes. There's a story in the local rag about the program and some doof traded in his F150 and got.... another F150. They showed a pic of the old truck, that eh hole never had anything in the box of it for the last 16 years, it was a COMMUTER TRUCK and the new one will be as well. HOWEVER that old truck probably runs like a top and would be a useful implement in the right hands BUT it will be CRUSHED and WASTED instead.
