Diesel motorcycle for sale on Craigslist

An EMer should get this:

Diesel motorcycle

Quote:
Diesel Motorcycle for sale
1981 Honda CB125S with a Hatz 1B20 diesel engine and belt drive transmission.
This bike starts easily, runs great, sounds awesome and gets alot of attention.
All the electrics on the bike work, including the headlight, turn signals, brake light, horn.
This bike was originally 6 volts, now it is 12 volts.
Both tires and tubes are like new. The tires are for on/off road use. The brakes are in great shape.
The seat has one small tear. Besides the different engine transmission, nearly everything else is original.
It is easy to drive this motorcycle, there is no clutch lever to operate and no shifting, it is the same as driving a scooter or moped (of course it looks better and the sound is unique!)
I estimate the fuel mileage to be 110 mpg.
I stored this in a heated area all last winter and when I pulled it out for this past summer it started on the first pull. Could use the fuel tank cleaned out and a new fuel filter. Time for a new project, so this one must go!

Serious inquiries only. A clean and clear title is ready for the new owner. $1000 cash takes it home.

While I'm sure my premature demise would be welcome by some (many?) it wouldn't help you get the bike. Just go buy it. The ad is still up.

This is close to me but I'm not in the market for a motorcycle.

Looks like a neat bike.

didn't see a reply to option, might be sold.

but a 125 is a very binary size for an engine, I had one, it doesn't spend much time at part throttle. 100mpg was easy, and stock was 7.6kw, vs peak 3.4 for the diesel.

Neat bike, but you would need to be really bent on using diesel.

I thought that looked familiar. It's about 5 miles from me. Been listed on CL for a while.

Interesting. Wonder how it rides.

Before Hero split with Buell (EBR actually, and split isn't exactly the correct term either...) they were working on a concept diesel cycle. Some way-out styling going on there.

That's cool to say the least, but it's too underpowered. I'd rather try ethanol...
