Maybe things just stretched a little, bushings got flattened, things worked into place. Just a thought.

I could be wrong, but I think that when backing up to adjust the brakes, you must come to a complete stop with each application of the brakes. It is when the car "settles in" to the complete stop and lurches slightly in the forward direction that the actual adjustment takes place. Therefore, just pumping the brakes while backing up won't do it. You may have to do this cycling numerous times to notice a difference. Good luck!

I don't know about the Yaris, but on a 91 Camry the reverse method works, but when it doesn't you let your buddy (me) drive the car, when it came back they were adjusted. I basically just did it at speed, and very very hard.

Of course if it was a rental before, then chances are you can blame me for toasting the e-brakes <- Dumb old Me.
